Making my dreams alive! - Part I

Hello peeps, long time no see! My bloggers block is finally eased up a little bit and I actually feel like writing again so it's time to bring this blog back to life! I'm sorry for being so inactive with blogger lately (especially in commenting your blogs)! m(_  _)m I was just so damn tired the whole winter, but now that spring is finally here I feel more energetic and I hope it reflects to this blog as well!

So let's start this spring with my latest trip to Tokyo!

As I told you in february I won the ticket to Love Live! The Final Love Live -concert. It was a 2-day event but I got ticket only for the first day (Mar 31st) and I went to see the live viewing of the concert on the second day  (Apr 1st). I was supposed to leave to Tokyo on March 27th but all didn't go as planned. I was flying with ID-tickets, meaning that I only get to the flight if there are seats available, and of course on that exact sunday Finnair had to cancel few of their other flights to Asia and passengers from those cancelled flights filled all the available seats so I was left behind... (;__;) Well I needed to be in Tokyo on Tuesday at the latest so I didn't want to take a risk again with Finnair's flights and as soon as I got back home I booked the cheapest flight from Helsinki to Narita. Few hours later I was on a plane off to Paris! I flew from Paris to Hong Kong and from Hong Kong to Narita. It was the longest flight trip I have ever made but at least I got to Tokyo in time! I did little shopping on the day of my arrival but I was so exhausted from the flight that I went to sleep really early. Plus I needed to wake up on 5 am on the next morning...

So on wednesday morning at 6:30 am I met with my friend Misaki and her friend Rumi. We wanted to buy the concert goods that started selling at 8:30 am. I've always admired japanese people for their ability to wait in line so calmly for abnormally long times! Well at least I had company with me, but after 4 hours of waiting and moving one inch at a time I started to question my sanity.. XD Finally somewhere around 11 am we were done and I was super happy that I got everything I wanted!

The live goods! You could buy only one of each item and for example if you wanted to get 2 t-shirts you had to queue two times to get them!

Someone tweeted that there were almost 5000 people waiting for the goods... Thank god there were about 30 cashiers as well!

Everyone who bought the goods also got a random sticker of one of the Love Live girls as a bonus. I got Maki-sticker but luckily there were many people waiting near the shopping area who were eager to change stickers with you if you had their favourite girl. I found one girl who had Eli and she wanted Maki so we made the trade and both were happy! (^w^) I've always wondered how japanese people can be so extremely lucky because they always seem to get their favourite girls but this "trading things" explains it! Clever!

This truck was driving around Akiba and played Love Live songs!

After shopping the goods me and Misaki rushed to Akihabara where we had a reservation to SEGA's Love Live! collaboration cafe! Before we entered the cafe everyone had to make the signature sign of μ's (making a ring of peace signs with everyone) and yell "MUSIC.... START!!" as they do every time before their concert in the anime! It was so adorable I can't even...!! The cafe wasn't that big but it was really cute and there was Snow Halation and Sunny Day Song theme going on.

The menu had only few thing to offer and of course I wanted to taste everything because with every salty dish and every sweet dish you got different clear file and I wanted to have both! (>w<) Everyone also got random pictured coaster with every drink they ordered. I ordered Eli & Nozomi drinks and got Hanayo and Umi coasters... Just my luck. But then I remembered we're in Japan, so Misaki helped me to find a guy who was willing to change his Eli coaster to my Umi coaster! Win win again! XD

Kotori & Eli drinks!

For starters I ordered Rin's ramen dish and Snow Halation pancakes for dessert. Both dishes were soooo delicious!! Especially the pancakes! I can't even remember when's the last time I've eaten pancakes that good!! Yummy!

They also had these cute Snow Halation cut-outs of the girls!

There was also this board where you could write greetings!

With our tummies full it was time to go check few important Love Live locations. First we headed to Honoka's house which is a japanese sweet shop in real life as well. There was a long line of people waiting to get inside the shop but I just wanted to get few pictures of the house itself! We also accidentally stumbled upon the area which is in the CD cover of BiBi's final single! I didn't even notice it until I got back home and went through my photos! If only I had known I would've taken better pictures of it!! XD

In the anime and movie the girls hang out in front of this cafe few times.

BiBi's 錯覚CROSSROADS scene!

Honoka's house!

Then it was time to hit the Kanda shrine which is also an important place in the anime. We definitely weren't the only one's with the same idea since the place was crawling with Love Livers! XD Later in the evening I noticed on twitter that Emitsun (Honoka's voice actor) had also visited the shrine earlier that day!! I can only hope that she was there at the same time as we were! Huhuhu! (= w =)

There were a lot of Live Live emas in the shrine! Most of them wished luck to μ's in their Final Live!

Finally it was time to hit the karaoke! Misaki had made a reservation for JOYSOUND's Love Live! karaoke and our room had Kira-Kira Sensation theme in it! The karaoke had the same "get random coaster with each drink" thing going on as in the cafe, and this time I got Nozomi and Honoka coasters so I was pretty happy with them! We sang every Love Live song available and it was so fun!! Why can't we have karaoke boxes here in Finland as well?! I'd visit them every week!

Sooooo cute!!

The drink menu! Wish I could have tasted them all!

Eli & Nozomi drinks and our Final Live pen lights!

2 hours went by super fast and before I even realized, it was time to leave. We went to eat late night ramen and then it was time to head back to my hotel. I had super fun and Love Live filled day! A perfect eve before the main event! But more about that on part II... (>w<)

New Year & Christmas loot!

Oikein mahtavaa alkanutta uutta vuotta kaikille! Toivottavasti teillä meni vuodenvaihde mukavissa merkeissä! Me juhlittiin Team Japanin (a.k.a Simon & Maria) kanssa uutta vuotta pleikkarilanien voimin! Haha! Pelattiin suurin osa illasta Destinyä ja Pate raukka joutu notkumaan yksin tietokoneella kun siinä pelissä sai vaan 3 hengen ryhmät... XD Vähän ennen kahtatoista käytiin ampumassa parit kissanpierut taivaan tuuliin ja jäädytettiin ittemme ottamalla hienoakin hienompaa tähtisädetikkukuvaa! Sellanenhan nimittäin oli saatava!

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you all had a great time celebrating the occation! We had a small celebration party with Team Japan (a.k.a Simon & Maria). Well Playstation lan-party would be more accurate discription for our little get together. Haha! We spent most of the evening playing Destiny and poor Patrick had to be on a computer in the mean time since the party limit in Destiny is only 3 people... XD When it was almost midnight we went outside to shoot few very lame fireforks and freezed our asses off while trying to take an awesome picture with sparkle sticks (or what ever they are called.. XD)!

NERDS!

We ended our night by watching the newest Paranormal Activity film. It's our groups tradition to watch every PA-movie together and the newest movie was just as bad as the ones before. So nothing new there. XD What a perfect way to start a new year!

"Haro?"

On sitten kiva availla aattona paljon paketteja! (^w^) Mutta nyt lahjoihin!

The christmas came and went this year as well, and it was so nice to spend quality time with both of our families. We were supposed to have ONCE AGAIN a small budget christmas but in the end it was far from it... We're so crazy about shopping presents for each other, and we hide away every in-coming pre-orders already since October so we have many presents to open in the christmas eve! (^w^) But now on to the presents!

One does not simply have too many games!

One does not simply have too many games! I'm super happy about those PSN store credits since I can buy many new games for my PS Vita! We also bought Saints Row IV for each other so we can play it together (had to borrow another PS4 from our friend though XD).

This Witcher 3 expansion pack was a pleasant surprise since I had no idea that I'll get real gwent cards with it! That's so awesome and I can't wait to play it with Pat! I loved playing gwent in the Witcher 3 and I couldn't be happier to physically own some of those cards now!

Kaksi uutta taidekirjaa! Olipahan edullinen joululahja! Haha!

Two new artbooks! Well, one new art book since I already owned the Mass Effect book... I saw it in a store and told Patrick that I need it and he said I already have it. I didn't believe him because I know my books and I was 100% sure that I don't have it in my collection. When we got back home Pat secretly went to check the book shelf and found out that I indeed had the book already. Then he took it away from the shelf and hide it until christmas. On christmas eve when I opened the present and saw the Mass Effect art book, I was just super happy and had no idea about Patrick's little prank. XD Later he told me the truth and we had a great laugh! At least it was a super cheap gift! Haha!

New figures! I'm gonna make more detailed posts later about Black Heart, Rin and Harvest Moon Miku.

Sain myös Patelta 40 euroa rahaa käyttää Love Live! School Idol Project-kännypeliin. Sain siis tolla rahalla ostettua 100 lovecaa ja nyt odotan vaan kärsimättömänä jotain ihania korttisettejä, joihin pääsen tuhlaamaan noi lovecat! Huhuhu! Pate kyllä tietää miten hemmotella mut piloille! XD

I also got 40 euros from Pat to use in Love Live! School Idol Project mobile game. I got to buy 100 lovecas with that money and now I'm anxiously waiting for some cute set of cards to spend it all to! Huhuhu! Pat sure knows how to spoil me! XD

Viimeisimpänä, muttei todellakaan vähäisimpänä sain Patelta Love Live! School Idol Movie Limited edition blurayn. Peukut pystyyn!

Last but definitely not least I got Love Live! School Idol Movie Limited edition bluray from Pat. I watched the movie and loved every second of it! I'm so happy about the limited edition too since it allowed me to attend to the lottery for their final live concert tickets. Now I'm just waiting the results! I hope I can snatch even one ticket! It would be my dream come true to see μ's perform live. Plus this is their last one-man live so there is no other chances. Fingers crossed!

How was your christmas and new year?

The Countdown starts!

Hellurei ihanaiset!

Hello lovelies!
It's finally time to start the countdown to our next Japan trip which is less than a month away! I'm having some serious Japan withdrawals already and our vacation is the only thing we've been talking about ALL summer! XD I'm super excited and hyped up about this trip since we are going with our friends again, even though I still love going on vacation alone with Patrick too (of course!). We've been in Japan with these friends (Maria & Simon) already in 2011 and it's time to unite Team Japan again!

Japanifiilistä ollaan pidetty myös yllä Rakkautta & Anarkiaa festivaalin merkeissä, käytiin nimittäin viikko sitten kattomassa Ryuzo and his seven henchmen -elokuva ja eilen vielä Ghiblin uutuus Marnie - tyttö ikkunassa. Ryuzo oli taattua japanihuumoria höystettynä yakuza-elementeillä, eikä kyllä tarvinnu pettyä! Nauroin melkein koko elokuvan alusta loppuun! Oon aina ollu sitä mieltä, et japanilaiset ja kiinalaiset osaa tehä hyvää komediaa mut esim. brittien huumori ei taas iske muhun ollenkaan! Outoa.. XD Anyhow, Ryuzo oli ihan älyttömän hauska alusta loppuun eikä todellakaan ottanut itteään liian vakavasti.

We have hyped this trip in so many ways including few movies that we saw at the Love & Anarchy movie festival. First movie was called Ryuzo and his seven henchmen which we went to see a week ago, and the second was Studio Ghibli's new movie called When Marnie was there. Ryuzo was a comedy film about old yakuza farts and it was hilarious!! Omg I almost laughed the entire movie! I've always thought that Japanese and Chinese people know how to do great comedy, but on the other hand I don't get brittish humor at all! Weird.. XD Anyhow, Ryuzo was incredibly funny from the start to the end and it didn't take itself too seriously.

X'DD EPIC FAIL!

On the contrary the Ghibli movie When Marnie was there was a whole different story compared to Ryuzo. The movie came out in Japan a year ago and we got to see the premiere of the film here at the movie festival even before the Finnish release date. They also had the director Hiromasa Yonebayashi and the producer Yoshiaki Nishimura there as guests of honor and there was an autograph signing event before the movie. For the first 30 people they gave huge Marnie posters with original art made by Mr. Yonebayashi! We were lucky enough to get our own posters with Pat and I even asked the director to draw Marnie with kitty ears onto my poster! Both the interpreter and Mr. Yonebayashi laughed at my request since it was the first time anyone asked something like that! But in the end he drew Marnie with kitty ears for me!! I was so happy! When it was Pat's turn he decided to be a bit different and asked the director to draw the main character BOY onto his posters. The director was quiet for a few seconds and then answered to Pat: "It's a girl..." X'DD EPIC FAIL!

My nekomimi Marnie

Pat's boy girl!

The director and producer of Marnie

We got a free gift bag which included the original novel by Joan G. Robinson

The movie itself was completely different than I had expected but definitely a master piece worth watching! The trusty "Ghibli quality" was there to be seen and heard for the whole time and at some point I just wanted to pause the movie and admire all the little details in it! It was also interesting to see a whole new Ghibli movie without any touch from Miyazaki in it. And I have to admit that the future of Studio Ghibli really is in capable hands even without master Miyazaki!

After a few months of absence we returned to play Final Fantasy XIV again! We bought the new expansion packs, Heavensward, for the both of us and we've been doing nothing else with our free time than playing the game. Within the expansion the world of Eorzea got quite many new areas and FLYING MOUNTS!! Ahhh we've been waiting for them forever!! We also played through the expansions first boss battle and damn it was awesome! Can't wait to see what the future has in hold for us!

Puff, the magic dragon...

Look mom, no hands!

*wink wink* XD

Mutta eipä mulla muuta tällä kertaa! Päiviä lasketaan ja aikaa kulutetaan pelaamalla, töissä käymällä ja kissoja kiusaamalla.... Näihin kuviin ja tunnelmiin, ens kertaan!!

I really hope that more of our friends would get into the game so we could get a nice, small group to play together with. At the moment only one of our friends plays the game regularly and do raids and all other end game stuff with us. Everyone always starts the game with full of enthusiasm but after a few levels they just stop playing it... Buu! (;___;) If any of you readers play the game already or are starting to, we play at the EU's Cerberus server! *wink wink* XD

But that's all for now! We are counting days to Japan and spending all the time we have playing games, working and teasing our kitty cats... Until next time!!

NAMICHU, I CHOOSE YOU!!

Nami is not amused...

Miu was a little bit amused...

Our little otaku crib~!!

Haha!

Few people have asked how I display my figures in our home and yesterday after cleaning the whole apartment I finally decided to take few photos of this sh*thole and show you how this otaku-couple lives. XD Truth to be told, we are really starting to run out of space for all these figures and there's still almost as many figures in the attic as in these pictures... but hopefully we can buy our own, much bigger house next year and then I can finally display ALL my figures together! Haha!

IMG_0385

Alotetaan olohuoneesta, jossa meijän tietokonekin majailee. Ja eihän me voitaisi kutsua itteämme otakuiksi ilman "terveyshiirimattoa".... X'DD Hiirimatossa on Hyperdimension Neptunia-sarjasta tuttu Black Heart, joka on luonnollisesti mun lemppari koska se on Playstationin goddess. Huhuhu...

So let's start on our living room where we have our computer desk as well. We couldn't call ourselves otakus without the "health mousepad".... X'DD The girl in the mousepad is Black Heart from Hyperdimension Neptunia-series and naturally she's my favorite character because she's the goddess of Playstation. Huhuhu....

IMG_0380

IMG_0427

IMG_0426

(olenpas huono vaimo!) XDD

Here are our very first figure shelves from Ikea, the exactly same ones which can be found from every figure collectors home at some point. XD We have changed places of these shelves multiple times and right now they are in the corner of our living room. We have dedicated three whole shelves for our Monster Hunter collection (which is still missing about half), but those damn cubicles are too tall so there's a lot of empty space because we haven't bought different height stands for the figures... ( ;___; ) Aaaand then there's Pat's Dragon Ball- and some other random figures on the bottom.... (I'm a terrible wife!) XDD

IMG_0392

IMG_0394

BEHOLD..... THE WAIFU SHELF!! Plus Pat's maid collection.... Plus my nendoroid collection....

IMG_0391

IMG_0397

There's a little better pictures of our living room (+ Kuma). As you may have noticed, we don't have that many paintings from Picasso or anything else "real art" hanging on our walls... XD We usually change the giant wall scrolls after every Japan trip, but in the future on our bigger house I hope there's enough of empty wall space for every scroll to be displayed! ( ´ 3 ` )

IMG_0407

IMG_0399

IMG_0408

More details on our TV shelf. That Nintendo cartridge and the figure next to it is our wedding cake topper, which was made from a caricature picture of us. And because we love the Legend of Zelda series, we wanted to wear Link's and Zelda's outfits! ( > u < )

IMG_0412

Eteisessäkin jatkuu anime-teema... :D Mikun piti olla vaan väliaikasesti tossa oven päällä, mut nyt oon jo niin tottunu siihen etten raaski enää siirtää pois. XD

The anime theme continues even on our hallway... :D That Miku scroll was supposed to be there only temporarily but I've gotten so used to it that I don't bear to move it anywhere else anymore. XD

IMG_0419

Ja viimeisenä, muttei vähäisimpä, meijän makkari! Oon tehny itelleni tavotteeks, et koitan saada vuorattua kaikki noi vaatekaappien ovet julisteilla sun muilla, mut oon vaan liian laiska jatkamaan sitä projektia... Haha! XD

Last but not least, our bedroom! I've made it my goal to cover all the closet doors on posters and what not but I'm just too lazy to continue that project... Haha! XD

IMG_0418

Our tiny Nintendo 8-bit shrine!

IMG_0415

My tiny plushie collection!

IMG_0421

Makkarissa olevat figuurit on muutenkin suurimmaks osaks sellasia mitkä on siirretty uusien tieltä pois olohuoneesta ni niitä on heitelty sinne vähän miten sattuu. XD

We have two figure shelves on our bedroom as well and apparently I had some sort of stroke going on in my head because I didn't open the glass doors while taking this picture... XD The other shelf was so messy and full of Pat's miniature models which I didn't dare to touch so no picture of that shelf! The figures on our bedroom are mostly like a leftovers that we have moved away from the living room, so they are kinda all over the place. XD

IMG_0414

Mun vanhemmat on jo luovuttanu ja alkaa vihdoin ymmärtämään, et tällasia me ollaan.

The best way to end our little home tour is this beautiful wall scroll of Campus Sonico (feat. Nami's tail)! We get a lot of different feedback of our home from friends and family. The people, who know anything about japanese popculture, usually gives a lot of compliments and  love to watch our figures, but then the others who doesn't quite like anime or Japan are like "oh, okay". My parents have already give up and instead have finally started to understand that this is who we are. :D My mom called me the other day and asked right away "Are you an otaku?" (she had seen a document where they talked about otakus). I answered yes and I think that was the breaking point when my mom fully understood that I'm not going to change since she only replied "Yeah, I thought so."

Well, what did you think about our home? (/ > w<)/  ~
